Squinting eyes grow wide and open;
soon a wide smile matches the silence broken;
in joyous youth the melody sings;
as the warmth grows like early spring;
such presence in innocence with no words spoken.
Sprouting forth in beautiful new life;
eager in energy, surrounded by strife;
absently bringing hope and wonder;
to a world plagued with mutinous plunder;
we must protect, and forever hold tight.
To be young; to be a fool;
It is taken, oh how it can be cruel!
To mature, and to grow old;
with many paths to take to break the mould;
forever in my heart, please be Careful.
